TITLE: We Are Far Apart and Yet Together (Modern Dancer Limited Editions #1 and #2)
My parents and I live on opposite coasts of the U.S. I have not seen them for over a year, and so it was really a treat to have them visit me and my family this week.
Both figures were painted as I enjoyed my parents' company. The red dancer figure was painted to represent an Asian dancer, and it is a present to my mom.
WORK DESCRIPTION: This figure pair is a uniquely painted version of the 'Modern Dance Free Expression' sculpt. The figures is approximately 1/8-scale, measuring 7-7/8 inches (20 cm) tall. I sculpted this figure, mold and cast them in resin by myself, and painted the resin figures. The sculpting process can be seen here: 'From Gymnast to Ballerina WIP'.
The subsequent mold-making and casting these two figures took place from 8/28/09 to 9/11/09. The model prep took place from 9/14 to 9/22. And the painting of the two figures were expedited and done at the same time from 9/23 to 9/24, so that I could give the red figure to my mom. I keep the blue-green figure.
Really good job Honey, both looks so realistic and a really wonderful color choice. I can really understand that you parents are very happy about it. ^-^
There is no way i could give you a proper critique but what i can say is in your comments. umm WOW i thought it was photo of some dancers i'm in dance classes as a friend of mine owns the studio so i get classes for her music mixing for competition.
