WORK DESCRIPTION:
The figure is approximately 1/8-scale. It measures 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) from fingertip to fingertip. The 'magical' ribbon is an integral part of the figure for display. This figure is a uniquely painted version of the 'Free Spirit' sculpt, from which only very limited number of figures will be cast and painted.
I sculpted the original figure, cast it in resin by myself, and painted the resin figure. The preparation and painting work took place from 11/29/08 to 12/7/08. This is the first figure that I finished using an airbrush (I used to hand-brush exclusively).
FIGURE AVAILABILITY:
The figure is no longer available. (1/30/09)
A similar figure can be custom-painted to your color design (hair color, eye color, skin tone, leotard color design, etc.). Please note me if interested.
hello thank you for your submission in my forum to be featured. i have now finally gotten around to submitting the feature. sorry for the delay. you can find the feature at this [link]
I've only done one sculpture so far ... one of Jerry Garcia. When it comes to sculpture and working with polymer clays I just can't quite seem, when it gets down to facial features, to be able to get the sculptures to come out as smooth as I'd like... great for grizzled old men... but not great for female figures... I supposed I should be obliged to photograph Jer just right and put him on here too
I wish I could sculpt and paint sculptures like this! I'd go to town XD
you use to make the figures? it looks like a plastic material
