So it turned out that I missed the contest deadline by 5 hours (deadline was NOON HK time, as opposed to end-of-the-day 4/30 that I had assumed)... Disappointed, but am satisfied that I've finished a piece that pushed all my sculpting, painting skills.

Beginning of the End of My CA Era

So my California era has begun to come to an end.

Bittersweet, it truly is.

Most unfortunate that the economy tanked as I cheerfully pursued my CA dreams.

Most unhappy that my career will need to be rebuilt.

Most fortunate that I have met my best friend during the time here.

Most happy that my children are well and growing most beautifully.

Sculpting was started here, and seems to be ending here, as well. Not that this is much different than the usual, but commission is no longer being considered, except for those potentially from family and close friends. I have one outstanding obligation, which is to finish painting `hellobaby's Delinda sculpture and ship it to her once completed. Sculpting is coming to an end mainly because of the expected tasks competing for the time available -  there are quite many things to tidy up before the expected move out of CA in July, 2012. During the 4+ years in CA, I have lived quite the artist life, and thus, has left many things unattended to that I should have attended to regularly. No matter, it is what it is. I now have to work with pending reality.

Sadly but with fond feelings,

That's wonderful that everything turned out better than expected for you for your birthday. I can truly sympathize with the feeling of let down on those days proclaimed "you oriented" which is why I now just don't get my hopes up for anything and just let things happen as they may.

I do appologize for not being around to say anything to you on your birthday...I've not been well, not been spending much time on here, can't remember anything anymore so yeah...wishing you a happy birthday didn't go as planned but again, I'm glad you were still so blessed on 31st as you were.
